"Nothing, nothing is impossible when love is greater, more vast, more solid and immovable than the mountain itself."
by Mia Sheridan
About the book
Dane was her first kiss and the only man she ever loved . . . until their marriage crashed and burned. Now Audra has built a quiet life for herself running a flower shop she’s put her whole heart into. But Audra is left reeling when an unexpected circumstance brings Dane back into her world. He’s still as breathtaking as he ever was, and he still affects her more than any man she’s ever known. Yet learning to trust him again could be a matter of life and death . . .
When Dane offers to fly his ex-wife from California to Colorado to help correct a wrong, he never imagined the harrowing twist of fate awaiting them. When their plane goes down in the snowy mountain wilderness, Dane and Audra are stranded with no one to turn to but each other. Will their second crash end their lives–or save their souls?
The LuvBooks Review
I fell in love with Mia Sheridan’s beautiful and emotional writing style long ago with Archer’s Voice, so I couldn’t wait for an excuse to pick up Dane’s Storm and let her take me away again. Like many of Sheridan’s other stories, Dane’s Storm has a fated quality to it, making you feel as if everything single moment is meant to be, no matter how crushing or challenging. And challenges abound between Audra and Dane, first loves turned exes. While I was rooting along with everyone else for their second chance to turn into a happily ever after, the death-defying journey they walk together really gripped me more than your average love story. I’ll admit it, I was moved to tears at the end, which is a rarity for me. This is a riveting tale of second chance love and survival. Highly recommend!
“The air was cold around them but she felt cozy and safe, safe enough to be honest … It’s like I have a whole world of thoughts and feelings and … dreams on the inside, but everything around me has always been in black and white. Muted somehow… Until you.”
I loved this book. Dane’s Storm was a sweet love story with characters that come across as incredibly real. A testament to Sheridan’s poignant writing, I felt every emotion that her characters were experiencing… love, anger, fear, insecurity, acceptance. All of it!
“Forget everyone else, my sweet butterfly dancer. You were mine, even then. Before I even met you.”
Dane’s Storm was such a beautifully written second chance story that got to me on so many different levels. I loved the characters’ love story and the way their history is slowly revealed through flashbacks. The author manages to tell a story of love, grief, loss and second chances and includes a suspenseful story of survival in the Colorado mountains as well. These characters are developed so well and their deep love for each other is written so realistically. It was such a satisfying book in every way.
“And realizations were rolling in, like the snow flurries surrounding us. I had thought my feelings for Audra were twisted and tangled – too messy to unravel. Too complicated to even try. But lying there with her, about as close as two people could be, up on a mountain in the midst of a churning storm, nothing was complicated, Nothing.”
This is an epic story of survival, second chances, loss, rekindled love, and hope. A captivating build up of a deeply spiritual connection between two people and their intense love, all wrapped up with such descriptive scenes that I almost felt like I was right there with them. Mia Sheridan has such a knack for hitting you right in the feels! No one writes with more emotion and beautiful endings.
“The magnetism I felt toward Audra seemed rooted in my bones, threaded through the fabric of who I was.”
